Welcome to Mothers Against Violence

Our ethos is to help mothers work together for the lives of our children and their futures. We are all equal and no matter whether we live in the poorest parts of the city or the richest we all have the right to life. Our campaign is to create a more caring society where we all live in harmony with each other.

No one has the right to take another person’s life in violence. Each individual is the son or daughter of their mother. When they become a victim of death because of physical violence, this is a life sentence for the parents of that child. We think about that person who has died every day of our lives. We also think of what they might have been doing now if they were still alive. Every anniversary, every birthday are yet more reminders. It’s all the waste. Wasted lives cut short often for no reason.

We think about the times when our children were little and innocent and how they had no idea that their lives were all the time leading to death through violence. The pain of these violent acts blights all the lives of the friends and relatives of those connected with that victim.

Mothers Against Violence believe life is about giving. Mothers give life to their children and so we as mothers all have a special bond with young people. It is a bond with our own children, but also with other mothers. We feel for each other because we know the pain and suffering we have all been through. And we know that we wouldn’t wish it on anyone else.

And that is why Mothers Against Violence have spent many years on a soulful quest to drive home the message that murder, killing and physical attacks cause misery, torment and wreck the lives of many innocent people. A son’s death causes a life-destroying, emotional roller coaster that each mother, relative and friend of the victims experiences. All those whose lives are linked with victims have their lives in turn ruined and destroyed.

We now urge everyone all over the country to join our quest to rid our world of violent crime.

MAV  is very grateful for all the support it has recieved to date but sadly we seem to be being missed when it comes to funding. Pat works tirelessly and voluntarily to do what she can where she can and often the cost comes from her own pocket since her funding has ran out. If  anyone can  offer any funding or  wants to make a contribution then please feel free to get in touch so we can continue to provide a service which is very much in demand
